whats wrong with us?

we're all ill...sophie has tonsillitus again and mike, nathan and maxie have the dreaded "lurgi" which involves vomit, bad throat, headache and body aches...its not good...so don't come near us. also, mike nearly dislocated maxies shoulder by jumping on her..control yourself michael!

we wanted to go to the bearsuit gig last night..but we have no money and were forced to drop sophie off and watch in despair as she entered the venue (B2) and we drove away.

but all is not as it seems---> vaseline kid was played on radio 1 by huw stevens and is in the 'unsigned podcast'. yay! so go to www.bbc.co.uk/radio1 to get yours..

the only possible way to make us all feel slightly less ill..is to gaze unto this picture which reassures us that, although we may be ill..we will never be as ill as this poor soul:

A well deserved break yes?

We played the arts centre last night for bracko and tilting sky all in the name of Beat Bullying...we were all quite tired after months of continuous gigging but it was still awesome and toight.
We now have a break for a couple of weeks before the B2 gig..so were gonna try and get some rest and write some new songs...

The gig raised about a grand for charity so fanks a loort...
Also, Sophie bought The Neutrinos 7" for £2, and then mummy gedge won it on the raffle! WHEY!

I had an exam today which hurt my hand...and we all just had some egg rolls. We're thinking of driving to the beach tommorow cos we have a free day...although we have no money...

But the attitude is high in The B Unit. So its all gravy :)

york

its very windy here in norwich, and as we sit huddled in the loft on harford street, while mike gently strokes himself, we recall last night..
played at york. it was quite good. it took ages to get there. about 5 hours. listened to yeah yeah yeahs con-stant-ly. we were all knackered. but nevertheless played a good set. we got home at 3:30. on the way home someone text radio 1 saying how good we were and we left them speechless. huw stephens said, and i quote, "tell you what, we'll play the brownies next week, we've been meaning to play them for a while". we were happy and it made the journey home much more bearable. we're looking forward to howlback hum tommorrow. cant wait to see gggrits. and cant wait to play. we are busy.. :)

read our interview on the radio broadland website.

It's been a while........

The last post was in October..so i have a lot to fill you in on!
here goes...
We have had loads of gigs over the festive period and in between. We headlined the arts centre (YAY) and it went really well..twas obese! this aforementioned gig was the gig of the week in the EDP...YEH BABY!
Mike had been working hard in his promotional skills and got us a slot on Radio 1..so tht was good..Vaseline Kid has now been played on Radio 1, the Steve Lamacq show, no less!
Over christmas, Mike went to Plymouth and then Edinburgh (spelling?), and missed us all! ;) Me and Stevie went to New York and bought loads of vinyl. Nathan got a beret for christmas, which makes us all happy, although it is not as good as the Charles and Diana rubix cube that he got last year...
We have written a few new songs, hopefully to be recorded at The Sick Room in February..both of which are being liked by the general public..
New Years Eve was spent Mike-less at the Paris Got Fashion household, and involved dancing, michael jackson, drama, drunks, a 'for sale' estate agents sign that nathan stole from a garden, lovebites, chris in sophies dress, vases, vinyl and a happy resolution.
Mikes new year was cancelled because of the bad weather in Edinburgh.
While me and Stevie were in New York, Nathan, Sophie and Mike went to many good gigs, including a Bracko gig at the Marquee where the cruiser chimps played, and from the mouth of nathan, "were better than really good..they were awesome".
They also went to the allsorted alldayer at the queen charlotte and were photographed by the outline photographer and then were in the outline magazine! The photos are in the january edition and are IMMENSE!
Sophie got an extreme ironing calendar for christmas...its not really as good as it sounds cos although the concept is fun..its not actually that extreme.

We have got a gig in York tommorrow, a gig at The Arts Centre with Howlback Hum on Friday, a gig with Dudley at the queen charlotte on Saturday, and a gig at The Arts Centre with Bracko on monday...so busy busy busy..

oh yeh and because sophie had done no art homework, she told her teacher vaseline kid is a piece of art...and avoided being bollocked, as well as making the brownies a piece of art..:) from the mouth of smack the pony, "making art. making art. making art"

and sophie has tonsillitus and couldn't move her head, and then she kissed me and i got it. so we are playing many gigs when 2 members of the band have tonsillitus. not good.

i promise to keep the blogs regular from now on. i am sorry i am such a failure.
maxie
xx
